Programme
ArchKiddies is for ages 5 to 7 year
olds. At this age, children are still acquiring their fine motor
skills and they engage in a lot of imaginative play. Hence, they will
learn about architecture through imaginative and constructive
projects where they will explore the elements of architecture such as
lines, shapes, forms, mass, space, light and shadow, materials,
colours, structure and scale.
At Little ArchKids, which involves
children from ages 8 to 10 year olds, they will continue to learn
about the elements of architecture. Further, they begin to dab into
the relationship between the natural and built environment and issues
such as landscaping and urban planning is involved in their design.
The role of the human body in experiencing architecture becomes more
pronounced as they begin to relate better with logical thinking at
this stage.
As they progress further to Junior
ArchKids, for ages 11 to 12 year olds, they begin to consider the impact of humans on their
environment. Issues such as ecology and sustainabiity are considered
in their projects. They will also learn about technical presentation
skills done by architects and designers such as drawing of plans,
elevations and sections.
Throughout the levels, the children may
be exposed to famous artist and architects as well as architectural
history as sources of inspiration.
